You want to have a deep knowing of your strengths and self identity
An EMDR Intensive Can Help You Achieve Peace and Freedom from Pain
How can you benefit from this and why is the investment worth it? Imagine your heart rate slowing down. Imagine being able to take a deep breath. Imagine being able to finally sleep well. Imagine being able to set boundaries with people in your life so that you have more peace and rest. Imagine knowing and loving yourself on a really deep level and feeling the safety within instead of having to look outside yourself using coping mechanisms like scrolling, overeating, or checking out? Imagine being free from other people's expectations. That's priceless. So...
What IS EMDR?
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Whew! That's a mouthful...what does it mean??
EMDR is a therapy modality used to help people process and heal from trauma or distressing memories by engaging in bilateral stimulation (any rhythmic tapping, walking, eye movement, swaying or sound that activates both sides of the brain). This can allow you to access unprocessed emotions held within your body that need to be released to be healed. So...
What is an EMDR Intensive?
An EMDR intensive is an extended and accelerated form of therapy that allows you to focus more deeply on a specific goal or concern. This session will last more than the typical 1 hour format. Intensives are creative spaces where we have the time to accommodate to your speed of processing and can add elements that fit your personal needs like being in nature, making art, journaling, or meditation. Our sessions can start at 1.5 hours, but could be 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 and can be scheduled once or in a series. You could make more progress on stuck material in a few hours than you could in week after week, month after month therapy. Intensives are a modality that could save you so much time and effort in your life by preventing you from taking time off of work week after week or missing out on nightly/afternoon routines at home regularly. You could experience significant reduction of your symptoms in a shorter amount of time.
If you're not ready to process all the stressful material, ask me about a resourcing intensive that JUST focuses on techniques to soothe your anxiety.

Why would you want to do an intensive with me....???

Hi! I am Jenny Townsend. I have been in the Social Work field for 20 years and in private practice for 12 years. People feel supported working with me because I view my therapeutic relationships as collaborative works of art. We work together to make the beautiful picture of what your healing will look like now and how you can continue to create an ongoing masterpiece for the rest of your life. You will feel comfortable, seen and validated.
My sessions combine EMDR work with my Social Work lens of finding your strengths, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction training, somatic techniques to access the subconscious, and ego state work to really get to know and support those parts of you that hold the pain you have experienced.

What are the details and cost and investment in an intensive?
I have decided to make this really simple for you because who doesn't like simplicity?
I am aware that we are living in tough times, so there are payment plans available. Please inquire about what arrangements we can make together because I sincerely want to help you feel better and that's why I do what I do. I have been there too with health and financial struggles, I get it. No judgment here.

I already have a therapist. Do I have to leave them? Can you communicate with them about the material we covered in our intensive session?
No need to leave your current therapist! This can be work we do alongside your usual therapy. I would be happy to communicate with your current therapist about the work we have done! I believe it takes a community to heal and I love to collaborate!
