What Is Walk and Talk Therapy?
Walk and Talk Therapy is a dynamic and integrative approach to counseling that takes therapy sessions outdoors. Instead of sitting in an office, we walk side by side in a natural setting while engaging in meaningful conversation.
This approach combines the benefits of movement, fresh air, and nature with traditional talk therapy. Walking can help reduce stress, improve mood, and promote a sense of calm, making it easier to process thoughts and emotions. The physical activity also supports mind-body connection, which can be especially helpful for those who feel stuck or overwhelmed.
Is Walk and Talk Therapy Right for Me?
Walk and Talk Therapy is ideal for individuals who:
    •    Feel more comfortable talking while moving rather than sitting face-to-face.
    •    Experience anxiety, depression, or stress and find that movement helps alleviate symptoms.
    •    Want to incorporate mindfulness and nature into their healing journey.
    •    Prefer a less formal therapeutic environment.
Common Concerns
What about privacy?
We choose quiet, low-traffic routes and walk side by side, which often feels less intense than sitting face-to-face. While complete privacy can’t be guaranteed in public spaces, sessions are planned with discretion and confidentiality in mind.
What if I’m not very active or have mobility concerns?
No problem—Walk and Talk Therapy is always adapted to your comfort and ability. We move at your pace, whether that means a slow stroll or sitting on a bench for part (or all) of the session.

What if the weather is bad?
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we can either reschedule or switch to a traditional indoor or telehealth session, depending on your preference.

Do I need special gear or clothing?

Just wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. There’s no need for athletic gear unless you prefer it.
