Why I Created Wisdom Integration Intensives
Wisdom Integration Intensives grew out of a question I couldn't stop asking.
Over the years I noticed something happening again and again.
Just as clients began to settle into the work...
just as they felt safe enough to talk about what mattered most...
our hour would end.
We'd spend the next week holding onto that thread until our next appointment.
I began wondering...
What becomes possible when we don't have to stop?
That question became the foundation for Wisdom Integration Intensives.
They're designed to give you something that everyday life rarely does:
Time.
Time to settle.
Time to process.
Time to understand yourself.
Time to integrate what you've discovered.
Rather than squeezing meaningful work into sixty-minute sessions, an intensive creates room to fully explore your story, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with your own discernment and wisdom.
Many people leave feeling:
• More settled in their bodies, clearer about the path ahead, and less overwhelmed by painful memories
• Deeply seen and understood
• More connected to themselves
• Hopeful in a way they haven't experienced in a long time—not because they've been "fixed," but because they've had the time and support to understand themselves differently.
Perhaps what you've been needing isn't more effort.
Maybe you've been needing more space.
What is a Wisdom Integration Intensive?
A Wisdom Integration Intensive is an extended therapy experience designed for people who want dedicated time to explore, process, and reconnect with themselves.
Each intensive is thoughtfully tailored to your goals. During our preparation process, we'll create a collaborative plan based on what you'd like to work on and the approaches that feel most supportive for you. Your intensive may include EMDR, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, guided reflection, journaling, or other evidence-based approaches, depending on your needs.
Your Intensive Journey
1. Consultation
We'll begin with a free 15-minute consultation to explore what's bringing you here, answer your questions, and determine whether a Wisdom Integration Intensive is the right fit.
2. Preparation
Before your intensive, you'll receive a thoughtfully designed preparation workbook and meet with me to clarify your goals, begin reflecting on your story, and create a personalized plan for our time together.
3. Your Intensive
During your intensive, we'll move at a pace that honors both your goals and your nervous system. Your experience may include EMDR, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, guided reflection, practical skill building, or other approaches tailored to your needs.
We'll take intentional breaks throughout the day because rest and integration are part of the process.
4. Integration and Follow-Up
Before your intensive ends, we'll discuss what you've discovered, identify next steps, and create a plan for continued support.
Depending on your needs, this may include follow-up sessions with me or coordination with your existing therapist.
Is a Wisdom Integration Intensive Right for You?
Wisdom Integration Intensives are designed for people who want dedicated time to understand themselves more deeply, move through a significant life experience, or reconnect with their own inner wisdom.
My approach is grounded in the belief that:
Therapy is a place to remember yourself.
Meaningful change begins not by fighting who you are, but by understanding yourself more deeply.
People are whole, complex, and shaped by their relationships, histories, communities, and experiences.
Instead of asking, "What's wrong with me?" we'll begin asking, "What has my life been asking me to understand?"
My approach combines evidence-based therapies—including EMDR, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed care—with a deep respect for your own inner wisdom and how it has helped you survive so far.
Many people come to therapy wanting relief from anxiety, trauma, grief, or overwhelm.
Those are important goals.
But beneath those experiences is often a deeper question:
"Why does this keep happening?"
Or...
"Who am I underneath all of this?"
An intensive creates room to explore those questions.
You're neurodivergent and traditional therapy hasn't always fit the way you think. If you have ADHD or are autistic, you may find that traditional therapy doesn't always leave enough time to organize your thoughts, warm up to difficult topics, or process information in the way that works best for your brain.
An intensive allows us to move at your pace.
You're looking for a therapy experience that's collaborative and individualized. No two intensives look exactly alike.
Together we'll create a plan that reflects your goals, preferences, nervous system, and way of learning.
A Wisdom Integration Intensive may not be the best fit if...
• You're looking for crisis services or immediate emergency support.
• You're hoping for a quick fix or guaranteed outcome.
• You feel uncomfortable with a slower, reflective process.
• You aren't currently in a place where extended emotional work feels manageable.
If I'm not the best fit, I'll do my best to help you find someone or something that is.

Frequently Asked Questions
Before You Book
Do I have to be an existing client to schedule an intensive? No.
Many people begin working with me through an intensive.
We'll start with a consultation to determine whether this approach is a good fit for your goals and to make sure an intensive is clinically appropriate for your situation.
Can I participate in an intensive virtually? Yes.
If you are physically located in Kentucky at the time of your intensive, we can absolutely meet virtually.
That said, I encourage in-person intensives whenever possible. One of the greatest gifts of an intensive is the opportunity to step away from everyday responsibilities and create dedicated space for yourself. Being together in person often makes it easier to settle into the work, remain present, and fully engage in the experience.
If virtual care is the best option for you, we'll thoughtfully adapt the intensive to support your needs while creating a pace and environment that feels grounded and intentional.
Can I use my insurance? Wisdom Integration Intensives are private-pay services.
If you'd like to use out-of-network benefits, I'm happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your individual plan, so I encourage you to check with your insurance provider about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
How do I know whether I should choose a 3-hour, 6-hour, or multi-day intensive? You don't have to decide on your own.
During our consultation, we'll talk about what you're hoping to work on, your previous therapy experience, and what feels realistic for your nervous system. Together, we'll decide which option is the best fit.
Preparing for Your Intensive
What happens before the intensive? Before your intensive, we'll begin with a consultation to determine whether an intensive is the right fit.
If we decide to move forward, we'll meet for a preparation session and you'll receive a personalized preparation workbook.
Together, these help us begin understanding your story, clarify your goals, and thoughtfully prepare for our time together.
Why do I receive a workbook before my intensive? Your intensive begins before we ever meet.
After scheduling, you'll receive a thoughtfully designed preparation workbook. Rather than functioning as a typical intake form, it's an opportunity to begin reflecting on your story, your relationships, your body, and the questions that feel most important right now.
There is no pressure to complete every page. Instead, I encourage you to move through it with curiosity, noticing what stands out and what feels meaningful.
The workbook helps us begin understanding your unique experiences before your intensive so that our time together can be spent doing the deeper work you've come for.
Do I need to complete the entire workbook before my intensive? No.
The workbook isn't a test, an assignment, or something you need to complete perfectly before we meet.
It's an invitation to begin noticing.
Some people write thoughtful responses to every section. Others jot down a few notes, highlight the questions that resonate most, or simply read through it and reflect. There is no "right" way to use it.
We'll use your reflections as a starting point for our work together and continue exploring anything that feels unfinished during your intensive.
The goal isn't to complete a workbook.
It's to begin reconnecting with yourself.
During Your Intensive
Will we use EMDR the entire time? Not necessarily.
EMDR is one of several evidence-based approaches I use. Depending on your goals, our work may also include mindfulness, nervous system regulation, guided reflection, journaling, attachment work, practical skill building, or other therapeutic approaches.
We'll decide together what best supports your process.
Will I become overwhelmed during an intensive? One of the benefits of an intensive is that we don't have to rush.
We'll take breaks, check in with your nervous system, and move at a pace that feels both supportive and therapeutic.
The goal isn't to push through difficult experiences.
It's to create enough safety and space that meaningful work can unfold.
Can I eat, move around, or take breaks? Absolutely.
Intensives are intentionally designed with breaks built into the day. You're welcome to bring snacks, water, or lunch, and we'll create a rhythm that supports both focused work and nervous system regulation.
This isn't about powering through hours of therapy.
It's about caring for your whole self throughout the experience.
What kinds of concerns are best suited for an intensive? People choose intensives for many different reasons, including:
• Grief and loss
• Trauma and distressing memories
• Relationship patterns
• Major life transitions
• Recovering from emotionally abusive relationships
• ADHD and executive functioning challenges
• Anxiety or chronic overwhelm
• Identity exploration and self-understanding
• Preparing for an important life decision
• Breaking long-standing family patterns
If you're unsure whether your goals are a good fit, let's talk. That's exactly what the consultation is for.
Integration and Follow-UpWhat happens after the intensive?Integration is an important part of the process.
Depending on your needs, we may schedule follow-up sessions, coordinate with your existing therapist (with your written permission), or discuss options for continued support.
The goal isn't simply to have a meaningful experience.
It's to help what you've discovered become part of your everyday life.
Still wondering if an intensive is right for you?
You don't have to figure that out alone.
Our consultation isn't a sales call. It's a conversation.
Together we'll explore what's bringing you here, what you're hoping for, and whether a Wisdom Integration Intensive feels like the right next step.
If it is, we'll begin creating a plan together.
If it isn't, I'll help you think through what might serve you better.
